Lanesville Community School Corporation believes the ability to learn exists in all people. Maximizing that ability or potential is the responsibility of the School Board, Administration, Faculty and Staff, with the involvement of students, parents and the community.

The learning environment should be creative, nurturing and challenging to promote in students a desire for life-long learning.  The vision of the Lanesville Community School Corporation is for every student to graduate with college and career ready skills to become a contributing member of society.

Part of this vision is to be recognized as one of the top school districts in the State of Indiana.  Based on our per pupil expenditures and educational outcomes, we deliver great value to the taxpayers of our school corporation.  Our specific goals include:  100% graduation rate; 90% passing on ISTEP tests; 80% passing on ECA assessments; 75% graduating with an advanced diploma and 25% graduating with at least three college credits.

We are proud our ISTEP scores and graduation rate are among the highest in Southern Indiana and in 2011 Lanesville Community Schools met AYP in all nine categories.  For this year, the corporation, Lanesville Elementary School and Lanesville JR/SR High School all were rated “Exemplary” schools for meeting federal and state guidelines.
