Welcome the World into Your Home
- History of EF
- EF Foundation is dedicated to expanding cultural understanding
through foreign exchange. A proud part of the world's largest private
educational institution, EF Education, EF Foundation employs staff in a
network of offices around the world. Since 1979, we have provided study
abroad experiences for over 50,000 enthusiastic students from over 30 countries
around the world. Each year we help nearly 4,000 teenage students spend a semester
or a year in the host country of their choice.
- Letter from EF President
- Each year, more than 3,000 students travel with EF Foundation to experience a year or
semester in Aemrica. Though these enthusiastic teenagers, are from places as different
as Finland and Thailand, Germany and Australia, they all arrive with exactly the same
dream: to live with a real American family in a real American town; to attend American
high school and make American friends. For our students, it's the opportunity of a lifetime.
- And we couldn't make it happen without your help.
- Our volunteer host families are special people. They are proud of America
and want to share it with others. Host families enjoy welcoming students into
their homes, they love sharing their daily life and supporting them as they come
to know their new culture. In fact, our host families' friendliness and open-mindedness,
their curiosity and understanding exemplify the very best of America.
- As an EF Foundation host family, you get so much in return. You share in your student's
daily discovery of the United States. You deepen your own cultural awareness by
experiencing the ideas and customs of another country. You gain a lifelong friendship
that know no frontiers.
- Hosting is an unforgettable experience. We at EF Foundation would love to welcome
you to the fascinating world of student exchange.
- Asa Fanelli, EF President
- For the Host Family
