"The Diary of Anne Frank"
(as performed by the 8th grade English classes)

Each member of the class will choose a "role" for the play.   In addition to the eleven speaking parts, our play will also require both a director, producer, set designer, and stage hands.  See below for a description of each "role."

Actors/Actresses
Actors and actresses need not memorize their roles; they may use their books.  However, they should review their lines prior to class and be prepared to genuinely act their part complete with both verbal and physical expression as well follow stage directions.  Your director will assist you with this.

Director
The director will be responsible for the actors and actresses.  It is his responsibility to see that all participants are prepared for their roles each day.  If anyone is absent, the director should quickly find a replacement for the day.  It is your job to make sure the actors and actresses use proper emotion as they perform their roles.  He should also assist the actors and actresses with stage directions.

Producer
The producer will be primarily concerned with the stage and its setup.  He will work with the set designer to coordinate props and room arrangements each day.

Set Designer
The set designer will work with the producer to coordinate props and arrange the room each day.

Stage Hands
Stage hands will work with both the producer and the set designer to coordinate props and room arrangements each day.
